Authors Anne Myers and Christine Hansen concentrate on experimental procedures, leading students step-by-step through the whole process of research, from testing hypothesis through reporting. The main portions of the book are parallel to the main sections of the entire research report, which provide students with the abilities to design, perform and evaluate the research results and report them. They also include the introduction, methodology, results and debate. Although experimenting is the major focus, alternate approaches are presented. Thus, this book is an important guide for students since its details are on the introduction to basic ideologies of research specifically in psychology.

The book is very reliable since it has a perfect guideline on the main principles of any research design precisely and also within the framework of real examples. Students are provided with an information explaining designing and execution of an experiment. Also, the book guide on how a researcher can be able to analyze, interpret and provide a clear and substantive report on the findings of an experiment. This is achieved by the different methods given by the authors of conducting research experiments which give different results. Therefore, it is very easy for the students to understand the information provided in the book which is a very important aspect that the authors have achieved.

The methods used by the authors have been proven very useful in research and thus implemented in many systems since they are effective. However, according to the authors in the conclusion part, there is need for more research especially on the literature part and therefore, other researchers can extend on this part of the research. The key points that I find very useful in my final project are the variables in experimental research as well as the different methods of carrying out experiments. Also, learning how to analyze experimental research, designing, interpreting, executing and providing a clear and substantive report are some of the key points in my final project. I find the source very helpful mostly in this course and I have learnt a lot that I can use in my psychological experiments now and also in the future.
