Introduction
Different cultures, traditions, and people mostly possess different preferences when it comes to music. Therefore, emphasis should be taken to understand how different traditions impact the art of music from various perspectives. It is important to recognize the fact that music is an art which has evolved through history and different genres have attained peculiar features. Therefore, when writing about music, core principles should be incorporated together with other social and cultural concepts pertaining music. Music research may seem a bit challenging, but one can strive to make the process interesting by focusing on specific topics of preferences and those of one’s highest concerns. Various research questions can be used to guide throughout the research process (Trehub, Becker & Morley, 2015).
Reasons why country music is the most popular music genre in the United States
This research question contains both the dependent and independent variables (Cengage, 2005). Country music is a dependent variable since its popularity is dependent on the country where it is played most while United States is the independent variable since it impacts the outcome of music popularity but also remains constant.
The variables can be classified under quantitative variable where country music will be ranked under discrete variable. This is because research will provide statistical data or count that will proof that it is the most popular song in the country. Country music may also reflect ordinal variables since it is presented in a specific order of popularity (Cengage, 2005).
What are the impacts of music on the human brain?
This research question also contains the dependent and independent variables. Music is the independent variable since it impacts the outcomes of the productivity and efficiency of the brain while the human brain is the dependent variable since its functionality is dependent on the music. The research question also contains quantitative variables. Music can be represented as continuous variable that represents continuous and non-finite value. This is the impact it has on the human brain. The impact is not discrete in nature since it can either be physical impact, mental, or psychological impact. Music can also be classified as a control variable since it is held constant throughout the experiment without changing.
Why is music commonly used during commercials and advertisements?
This research questions contains the two main variables which are independent and dependent (Cengage, 2005). Music is the independent variable while the commercials and adverts are the independent variables. This is because their outcome is impacted by presence of music. The research question contains quantitative variable since the popularity of music in commercials and advertisements will be analyzed through statistics and counts comparing with other frequently used elements. Music is also a control variable in this research question.
What is the influence of music on Pop Culture in America?
This research question also contains two variables the independent variable and dependent variable. Pop Culture in America is the dependent variable while music is the independent variable. Music is independent because it impacts the outcomes of the research by influencing pop culture. The research question also contains quantitative variables which can be further classified under continuous variable. The effect of music on pop culture is continuous and reflects a non-finite value. Music can also be regarded as a control variable in this research question.
How can music be applied in learning and teaching environment and how is it productive?
There are two major variables present in this research question. Music is the independent variable while the teaching and learning environment is the dependent variable (Cengage, 2005). This research attempts to examine how music can be incorporated and influences the learning and teaching outcomes in a school therefore music will be the independent factor. This research question also contains quantitative variable. The influence of music in teaching and learning environment can be regarded as a discrete variable since its productivity can be measured through the academic performance of the students, quality of teaching, and time performance (Cengage, 2005).
How has music changed the taste of people through the radio?
There are two variables present in this research question which are the dependent and independent variables. Music is the independent variable that influences the taste of people while taste and preferences of people represent the dependent variable since it depends of the type of music (Easton, 1997).
The research question also contains quantitative variables that can be classified under continuous variables. The research attempts to examine how the taste of people has changed due to music. This change in taste will reflect the continuous non-finite value of measurement. Moreover, music can be referred to as a control variable (Easton, 1997).
How is music used as therapy in the American Indian Culture?
This research question has two variables which are music and American Indian Culture. Music is the dependent variable while American Indian Culture is the independent variable. This is true because this culture influences the outcomes of how music is used as therapy. Moreover, the research question further contains quantitative variable that can be measured under continuous variables. The music therapy is a continuous variable since its measure in real time is continuous and of non-finite value. The American Indian Culture can also be classified under control variables (Cengage, 2005).
What are the most common musical instruments in Ancient Rome?
This research question contains two variables (Easton, 1997). Musical instruments are the dependent variables while Ancient Rome is the independent variable. Musical instruments popularity is dependent on the type of country. This research question also contains quantitative variables since the musical instruments can be classified under discrete variable. This is because it requires counts or statistics to identify the commonly used instruments in the region. The musical instruments can also be grouped under ordinal variables since they will be ranked in a specific order (Easton, 1997).
How does rock music help to fight stress and psychological issues?
This research question contains dependent and independent variables (Cengage, 2005). Rock music is the independent variable while stress and psychological issues are the dependent variables since the fight against them are dependent on rock music. The research also contains quantitative variables where the fight against stress and psychological issues can be classified as continuous variables. Rock music is also a control variable (Cengage, 2005).
Should the young children be banned from listening to rock music?
This research question contains dependent and independent variables (Cengage, 2005). Young children are the independent variable while listening to rock music is the dependent variable since it depends on whether the children will be banned or not. This research question also contains quantitative variables that can be classified under continuous variables. (Cengage, 2005)
Conclusion
In conclusion, when choosing this subject as for your research paper, it is crucial to identity the social, historical, and cultural peculiarities of the topic. It is also important to identify the various variables that are present in the research topic and questions.
