In each week of this course you will apply the steps of the quality improvement process to a real practice problem. This Capstone Paper will provide the comprehensive discussion of your Practicum Project.
The paper will be submitted in steps so the faculty can approve each section. Each section should be added to the previous section so that by Week 6 the faculty has read and made recommendations for the final paper. You are expected to incorporate the feedback you receive after each submission and before submitting the next assignment

Identify a quality improvement practice problem to be discussed in the Capstone paper
Consider problems related to structure, process, outcomes, or patient experience.
Remember: Each section of the Capstone Paper must meet the Academic Writing Expectations for the Capstone Level.
For this Assignment, write a 1-2 paragraphs that address the following:
Practice Problem
State the practice problem in measurable terms and that reflect quality indicators.
This is the same problem described in the week 1 practicum discussion.
Keep in mind that this section may need to be revised after you complete all of the other sections.
Provide the rationale for selecting the practice problem.
WEEK 2 Assignment: Capstone Paper: Literature Review
By Day 7
Complete a literature review for your practice problem. Summarize the purpose, methods, and findings for each of the studies located in your literature review. A minimum of five peer-reviewed, evidence-based practice articles. Include an explanation of the quality management measurement and data that were presented (4–5 paragraphs). That is, explain to what extent the solution influenced the practice problem. Use appropriate, relevant, and compelling content to illustrate mastery of the subject, conveying the writer’s understanding and shaping the whole work.

For this Assignment, write 4-5 paragraphs that address the following:
Literature Review
Synthesize the purpose, methods, and findings from at least five peer-reviewed, evidence-based practice articles that support your practice problem.
Two main components of successful synthesis include evidence of the student’s own ideas and a well-organized presentation of evidence.
Include an explanation of the quality management measurement and data that were presented.
Include a minimum of at least 5 peer-reviewed evidence-based practice articles that support your practice problem.
WEEK 3
Assignment: Capstone Paper: Introduction, Literature Review, and Quality Improvement Process
The Assignment you will submit this week will combine the work you completed in Week 1 (Introduction) and Week 2 (Literature Review). This week, you will integrate the Quality Improvement Process details in approximately 2-3 paragraphs for your Capstone Paper.

Describe the quality improvement process and the tool that will be used as a basis for the practice problem.
Explain why the specific process was selected and document your explanation with references.
For this Assignment, you will submit a 7-10 paragraph paper that addresses the following:
Practice Problem (Completed in Week 1) (Approximately 1-2 paragraphs)
State the practice problem in measurable terms. (Keep in mind that this section may need to be revised after you complete all of the other sections.)
Purpose, Methods, and Findings (Completed in Week 2) (Approximately 4-5 paragraphs).
