The Company and the Product

My company is known as Icy Nicey (IN). Icy Nicey is focused on designing, manufacturing, and marketing men’s perfume. The company’s mission is “to design unique, quality perfume – one that boosts your self-confidence, uplifts your mood, and makes you look attractive.”

Employees

Icy Nicey has forty employees. These include perfumers, finance officers, digital designers, chemists, quality control specialists, and production workers. Perfumers participate in the production of a fragrance. They blend different chemicals and aromas to create a fragrance.

Finance officers are responsible for every financial aspect of the business. They prepare financial reports, manage the budget, and ensure every financial transaction is conducted ethically and legally. Digital designers work in the advertisement and marketing department. Their roles include designing, producing, and managing online content, including promotional campaigns, social media graphics, and eye-catching web content.

On the other hand, fragrance chemists formulate, test, and analyze fragrances with their ingredients to ensure the end product meets consumer needs and expectations. Fragrance chemists may also evaluate the efficacy and quality of a perfume.

Quality control specialists inspect and test the products before, during, and after production. They ensure that the products align with safety regulations and legal standards. Lastly, production workers carry out manual labor tasks in manufacturing. Their daily duties may include assembling, inspecting, and packaging products.

Authority Structure

Icy Nicey is a centralized company. Top executives make decisions, which are then communicated to the lower-level managers. The involvement of a few people in decision-making strengthens problem-solving and decision-making processes in the company (Corporate Finance Institute, 2020). Icy Nicey’s organizational structure also helps improve accountability, reduce operational costs, and keep the organization’s vision focused. The company will adjust its organizational structure over time to address changes within the business environment.

Organizational Chart

In Icy Nicey, most decisions are made by the CEO, the three vice presidents, and the managers who oversee high-level aspects of the organization’s business processes. The decisions are then distributed to the lower-level managers for implementation.

Geographic Location

Icy Nicey is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The company operates in different U.S. cities, including Miami, Boston, San Francisco, New York, Houston, Los Angeles, and, most importantly, Chicago. By 2030, Icy Nicey will have locations worldwide.

Strength

The company’s main strength is strong leadership. Icy Nicey has solid and effective leadership characterized by transparency, honesty, good problem-solving skills, effective communication, decisiveness, and empowerment of others. Strong leadership connects teams through a common purpose. It builds relationships within the workplace that facilitate more creativity, better problem-solving, and effective communication. Through strong leadership, Icy Nicey has achieved what many believed impossible.

Weakness

The company’s main weakness is heavy competition. Icy Nicey faces competition from Dolce & Gabbana, Carolina Herrera, and Kenneth Cole – all of which offer a variety of men’s perfumes that compete directly with Icy Nicey’s products. The company continually develops new and unique products to deal with the market competition.

Company Logo

Icy Nicey’s logo is simple enough to be recognized and remembered easily. It conveys the personality and tone of the company in graphical imagery and color. The black color represents boldness, sophistication, elegance, power, and authority.

Catchphrase

Icy Nicey “a perfect perfume for every moment.”

Icy Nicey is classified under cosmetics, beauty supplies, and perfume stores. The NAICS (North American Industry Classification system) code is 44612 (IBISWorld, n.d.). The industry encompasses different establishments, including perfume or beauty stores. Performance and Training Assignment

  1. Create a training plan for the organization (Icy Nicey) that includes how you will evaluate training needs, how it fits into the performance management scheme, incentives, evaluation of the training itself, and (in great detail) methods for delivery of said training.
  2. Also include as part of your submission at least one piece of stimulus (a flyer or handout are good suggestions) that would be disseminated as part of a training session (you will want to include your company name and logo on this, of course).
  3. Your submission should be in APA format; use 12-point Times New Roman Font with 1” margins all around. Avoid first person, passive voice, ambiguous pronoun references, awkward grammar, and misspellings. Remember, you are representing the organizational leadership in your submission. Write at least 3 pages doubled spaced, not including the handout (“stimulus”), reference page, or title page (both of which should be included, but do not count toward the 3-page minimum).
  4. Be sure to use the principles of psychology from your chapters and other sources within your submission, and BE EXPLICIT about it.
