environmental, stakeholder and technological issues impacting on SSM for
organisations.
Task: Building on the environmental analysis from Assessment 1 you are required to
produce a strategic plan for your sport organisation. This assessment will be carried out by
groups of two students with student pairings determined by the teaching team (you cannot
organise your own groups).
Word Limit: 2000 words
This task will involve integrating your individual results from the environmental analysis each
student conducted in Assessment 1. You will apply the strategic management concepts and
tools presented in this unit and use the principles of analysis and synthesis to investigate
strategic and functional issues and develop consistent, creative and supportive strategies for
your sport organisation. The overall project is to be presented in report format.

Strategy Development / Strategic Plan
a. Develop mission, vision, goals, management systems, financial proforma,
and measures of success
b. Based on the strategic priorities identified through the SWOT, develop a
set of recommended goals and strategies that addresses the organisation’s
weaknesses, builds on its strengths, and allows it to respond strategically to
opportunities and threats in the external environment.
