Read the case Stability, Crisis, and Revolution at IBM beginning on page 285 of Chapter 11. After reading the case, answer the following questions in essay format:
1. What external conditions were impetuses for change at IBM?
2. When IBM succeeded at change, the corporate culture supported change by encouraging innovation and a mindset for venturing into new product markets. Please discuss.
3. What was the role of leadership in managing change at IBM?
