Network Security Project
1. Instructions:
In the last lecture and over the last laboratory activity we have covered a number of different topics in Network Security. Network Security is a very broad and rapidly changing field. Think back on the lecture and laboratory to a topic that interested or excited you. For your final project you are to create either a
- 10+ slide (15 minute presentation) – due by the end of Week 6
and
- 5+ page – due by the end of Week 7
on a topic of your choosing. Make sure your topic is approved by your instructor. You should read and reference AT LEAST three articles related to Network Security (Cybercrime, Spam, Botnets, Key-Loggers, Hacking, Cyber-warfare, etc.) as part of your paper. If the papers you read and referencesare not available online, please attach a copy of it to your paper and/or include parts of it in your presentation.
2. Format
2.1 For a presentation:
Your presentation (made in PowerPoint) should be AT LEAST 10 slides in length, use images AND text. On the first slide of your presentation, put the Title, and then under the title (in much smaller letters) put your name, date, course, and then name of the instructor.
Be sure and include in your presentation:
- A summary of the articles you read.
- Your opinion about the importance of your chosen topic.
- What is the problem?
- Why should the problem be corrected?
- How should the problem be economically and effectively corrected?
- Recommendations, Summary and Conclusion
- A citation (name, author, link) to the article you read and references.
2.2 For a paper:
Your paper should be 5+ pages, single spaced using a 12 point font, with not more than ½ of 1 page used for instructive images. At the top left of your paper put your name, date, course, and then name of the instructor. Beneath the instructors name put your paper title and have it centered.
