- After completing all of the above parts, analyze the chart and your data by addressing the following questions;
1.) Does the Japan/US Foreign Exchange Rate (EXJPUS) trend follow a similar trend as the Trade weighted Exchange rate graph found in your book at the top of page 266 under the Section labeled “Making the Connection”? Why or Why not?
2.) What has been the trend in exchange rates of the Yen to the dollar over the past 10 years? Is there relationship between the Yen to Dollar exchange rate and US Net exports? Does the relationship display an immediate effect or a lag (lapse in time) effect between variables?
3) During periods when the Net Exports we’re significantly low (very negative), was the Dollar appreciating or depreciating against the Yen? Develop a graph in excel that indicates periods where the Net Exports were significantly low against the Exchange Rate
4.) After analyzing the trends and developing the charts, what do you think is the main macroeconomic driver that is causing foreign countries to not buy your products like before?
5.) What are factors impact the exchange rate in the exchange rate? Explain in detail
