Clinical Interviewing: Intake, Assessment & Therapeutic Alliance [ 2:08:45]
Since the video has significant commentary and is lengthy, you are asked only to view the 3 last video chapters and commentaries about Intake, a Mental Status Exam, and a Suicide Assessment. You may, of course, view the entire video if you would like to.
After watching the video, address these points:
What specific assessment questions was the interviewer asking during the intake, mental status exam, and suicide assessment?
Was there any evidence of an addiction or substance use disorder? If so, how was this issue explored by the interviewer?
What would you say was the level of readiness and willingness to change for the person in each vignette?
What ego defense mechanisms did this person use during the session?
What further questions would you have for this person that might aid you in your assessment of the person in these 3 vignettes ?
