Event Bid Assignment Instructions

For this assignment, you will respond to a request for a proposal (RFP) of a sports event.You mustsubmit a bid for a fictitious, but realistic, event. Though the organization and event are not real, the information regarding your selected bid site must be based on real information. The following is required for your Event Bid Assignment:

  • All information used that is not public knowledge must be cited using current APA format. A minimum of 3 sources are required for this assignment; peer-reviewed sources are not required for this assignment.
  • The assignment must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document via Safe Assign.
  • The assignment must be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, must be double-spaced, and must have1-inch margins. The body of the response mustbe a minimum of 8 pages. In addition, a title page, an abstract, and a reference list in current APA format must be included.

Prior to completing your bid response, you must reserve your location selection through the designated Discussion Board Forum on Blackboard. No student can select the same host community as another student. To reserve your location, begin a new thread in the designated Discussion Board Forum (the link to the form can be found in Module/Week 5) and include the city and state in the subject line.

You must submit a bid to host only 1of the following sports championships (1sport and1 gender) put on by the American Collegiate Sports Federation (ACSF). The ACSF is a collection of public and private colleges who desire to provide high quality academic and athletic programs. Each sport will conduct a 16 team single-elimination championship tournament for a total of 15 games over a period of 4 days. Choose only 1 sport from the following list for which to complete a bid:

  • Soccer (choose either men’s or women’s)
    • Anticipated 5,000–8,000 fans for the full event
    • Minimum of 2 competition fields for first and second rounds
    • Main field musthave a minimum spectator capacity of 2,000
  • Baseball (men) or Softball (women’s fast pitch)
    • Anticipated 5,000–8,000 fans for the full event
    • Minimum of 4 competition fields for first and second rounds
    • Main field musthave a minimum spectator capacity of 2,000
  • Basketball (choose either men’s or women’s)
    • Anticipated 18,000–24,000 fans for the full event
    • Minimum of 2 competition courts/venues for firstand secondrounds
    • Main court musthave a minimum spectatorcapacity of 6,000
  • Volleyball (choose either men’s or women’s)
    • Anticipated 3,000–5,000 fans for the full event
    • Minimum of 2 competition courts/venues for firstand secondrounds
    • Main court musthave a minimum spectatorcapacity of 1,000

Regardless of which sport you select, you will need to determine the required number of hotel rooms in the official hotel(s) for the appropriate number of players in addition toat least 5–10 coaching andstaff members for each team.Written descriptions mustbe provided in sentence formatfor each of the following items (each main point mustbe a new section of your paper):
