• Complete the steps to compute the measures of central tendency. You may do this by opening the data set chapter 2 data set 1 and then following the steps outlined.

Steps two through nine are used to compute the measures of variability that are discussed in chapter 3

the first step is open the file name chapter 3 data set 1.

Here are steps 2-9

• 1. click analyze à descriptive statisticsàfrequencies
  2. double-click on the reaction time variable to move it to the variables box
  3. click on the statistics button and you will see the frequencies statistics dialog box. This dialog box is used to select the variables and procedures you want to perform
  4. under dispersion, click STD deviation
  5. under dispersion click variance
  6. under dispersion click range
  7. click continue
  8. click ok
