This system will time-out and close after 35 minutes of inactivity. This means that you may lose your work if you do not take sufficient precautions. Please also note the following points.

We suggest you prepare your reference in a word-processing package. In this way it will not be lost if you have to leave the work for a time and will also ensure that you have a copy of what you have written.

Note that the system will not let you save your work in progress and return to it to complete it later. You have to start and complete the reference in one session.

When the reference is complete, click on the ‘preview’ button below to check that your reference is as you wish. The ‘preview’ screen will also tell you how many lines and characters you still have available. To return to this screen, click on ‘edit’.

Once the reference is complete, click on ‘submit’. Please note that once the reference has been submitted, no further amendments can be made and your password to this site will expire. We will email you a copy of your reference to confirm that it has been received by us.

Please enter the reference for the applicant here. Remember there is a limit of 4,000 characters (including spaces) or 47 lines (including blank lines), whichever is reached first. Please also remember that bold, italics, underlining cannot be used in the reference. See Advice and guidance for independent referees for further information.
