Please respond to the following: The discussion questions given please produce 200 words about each numbered question. please place answers under each bullet point. In Addition a response must be given back (100 words) to the other students Natasha ST. Etienne ,Tiara Davis ,Shawn ANDERSON for all responses.
- In Chapter 8 of the Webtext, you learned four simple ways you can use self-monitoring behavior in the workplace. Review the table on page 8.3.(I screen shot the webtext so that you can refer back to that). Then, explain how you already use one of these behaviors at work or school.
Next, identify one of the behaviors that you might need to work on for your future career.

Good Morning Professor and Class,
I always practice self awareness at work so that I don’t project my insecurities to my co-workers as well as my boss. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed when I have a deadline at work, and on top of the deadline, I also have other work to do and I have to train new employees on the job. This can get very overwhelming, and I start to feel anxious knowing I may not get everything done on time. I know that feeling stressed or anxious won’t help me, but if I take a deep breath and make a to-do list of things that need to get done in order of importance, I feel a little better. By taking one day at a time, I don’t feel so stressed out and that way, I am able to get everything done on time.
One thing I need to work on is being more authentic and not worrying so much about what people think of me.I try to blend in a lot at work so that I don’t stick out in a negative way, but by doing so, I’m not being true to myself. By being true to myself all while maintaining a professional manner, I will be successful at my job and in my personal life.

Hello Professor Mims and Class,
When I think of where the music industry will be in 20 years, I automatically think of a garbage can depending on what genre you listen to. Compared to the old school music, today’s music literally makes no sense at all. It seems as if the music industry back in the day had a purpose, and that purpose wasn’t to compete to see who has a better sex life or women being disrespected. I like to listen to classical music and jazz, hip hop and r&b, rap and country. I love all types but I feel lately it’s been plummeting. I find myself often listening to things no one else listens to because it doesn’t have a flow and it isn’t at all appealing.
For example, I love country music and it’s way of nature soothes the ears, the new hit single “Old Town Road”, doesn’t give me that same soothing feeling. I believe it was listed as a country hit only because popular country singer Billy Ray Cyrus featured it. When I think of hip hop back in the day, I don’t constantly hear woman being disrespected or hit on because of thier body parts. If I live 20 years from now, I can almost guarantee I will not be “keeping up with the joneses” just to fit in. I will be listening to the older songs, just as I do now.

Hello Class,
“What if Libraries Weren’t Public?”
- Libraries and collections of information often exist for the public good. What do you think would happen if libraries of some types of information were privatized? Support your views with two or three reasons and/or examples. (Cite any sources you referenced.)
Personally, for all our budget troubles, I don’t foresee the end of public libraries in the near future. Libraries may consolidate between towns, close smaller locations or branches with the weakest statistics in larger system, even cut back to much shorter hours and offerings, but the complete demise of this public institution is not a reality. While there are entities that are better at aspects of what we do, there is no complete package or an organization that replaces us as a whole.
There is no other establishment, government, private, or otherwise, that does what the library does for the same amount of cost/benefit. This is not to say that there aren’t individual libraries under the knife right now in desperate need of public support. What I am saying is that the institution of public libraries at present remains above extinction. If anyone would like to suggest otherwise, I’d be happy to hear their arguments and evidence. I don’t believe the world would stop without public libraries. Society got along relatively fine without us as they would again if public libraries went away.
Our demise would add layers of additional complexity to information access, but it does not stop us from eating, breathing, or living. Life, most assuredly, would go on. It should not be our aim as public librarians to try to convince people how bleak and melancholy the world would be without public libraries. Rather, it should be our goal to show how much better the world is when you have seemingly infinite information and entertainment options only a phone call or keystroke away. It is an appeal to what could be, for our holdings are the seeds of insight, of knowledge, and of imagination. That we can enable better dreams, better understandings, and a better fuller life. Can you imagine not being able to research a paper or obtain valuable information about something.
