Terror and Moral Dilemmas: The roles and responsibilities of the media when covering terrorist events
How media coverage helps shape public perceptions over violence and terrorism and often offers a platform for the terrorists’ agenda.
The challenge is to understand the dynamics of this relationship and to develop policy options designed to support freedom of the press (a pillar of democratic societies) while not allowing the media to be manipulated into promoting the cause of terrorism or its methods.
