Discussion 2: Career and Technical Diverse Programs-Due March 01, 2019 by 9:00 p.m.

As we reviewed the history and progression of Career and Technical programs, we can see that programs became more diversified to assist students in developing knowledge, skill, and proper attitudes toward work. Programs became defined as “General Labor Market Preparation” and “Specific Labor Market” program. Your task is to do the following:

  1. Define (do not just copy and paste from my presentation or Internet) the following:
  2. General Labor Market
  3. Provided aexample of general labor market job(s) (describe) (you may discuss 1 or 2)
  4. Describe who directed more to the general labor jobs (was it a certain race or ethnic group, gender)
  5. Specific Labor Market
  6. Provided aexample of specific labor market job(s) (describe) (you may discuss 1 or 2)
  7. Describe who directed more to the general labor jobs (was it a certain race or ethnic group, gender)

This can be done in approximately 3 or more paragraphs. Although you can refer to the text, recent powerpoint slide lecture notes (02/20/2018 and 02/27/2018), and applicable Internet information, do not copy and paste. Please use in-text citations (APA). and list references at the end of completed entry (do not post this as an attachment).

  1. Afterdiscussing and providing examples of the general and specific labor markets,
  2. Briefly discuss if the jobs/careers that you mentioned have relevance in today’s workforce.
  3. Is there a demand for this type of skill?

(See example, but you cannot use my example. EX: Blacksmith–Creates objects with wrought iron. This skill was categorized under the “general labor skill” program.
