Description:
Go online and find an article that uses ‘data’ from ‘studies’ to inform readers about something they should do or avoid. Example, an article that talks about a study supposedly
showing that eating more French fries will make you live longer, so eat more French fries.
In your discussion post, describe:
1) The type of article it is (informative, call to action, warning)
2) What kind of study(ies) were done to generate the data the article uses to inform/influence people into behaving a certain way. Describe how the data was generated.
Did they do experiments? Simply observe people? Review a bunch of literature of previous studies?
3) Does the article make any caution statements as to what the limitations of the study(ies) were. For example did the authors caution reads about them using too small a
sample size, of the sample wasn’t random, or dta sets were taken in multiple time periods, etc. Caution statements let the reader know that you may want to use this
information carefully (‘with a grain of salt’) when making decisions for your life.
