SOLVING ETHICAL DILEMMAS
ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW
Diverse organizations require today’s manager / leader to understand their own worldview and
respect that of others’ in the workplace. Competence in valuing multiple worldviews equips
today’s manager / leader to navigate ethical and moral issues that arise in an organization.
ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read and evaluate the Davis’ Seven Step Guide for Ethical Decision-Making.
2. Identify a moral or ethical dilemma in a past or present workplace, organization,
school or group membership scenario.
3. Propose a strategy for resolving the moral dilemma that demonstrates God-honoring
diversity.
4. Apply principles and ethical theories in the resolution of the dilemma, through a
Christian worldview perspective.
5. Reflect upon worldview implications in the moral dilemma scenario from a faith
perspective.
6. Consider the Six Pillars of Character and compose a code of conduct for an
organization that could be used to address similar or other moral or ethical dilemmas.
ASSIGNMENT REQUIREMENTS
This is a multi-part assignment, with each part requiring separate deadlines throughout the
course. Refer to the Upcoming Events block for specific due dates for each part.
• Formatting: APA, including title page and reference page.
• Minimum citations: 2 citations per part, textbook source = 1 out of total
• Word Count (excluding title and reference page):
• Part 1: 500 – 750
• Part 2: 1,250 – 1,500
• Part 3: 1,250 – 1,500
PART 1: DILEMMA IDENTIFICATION
• Describe a moral or ethical dilemma in a past or present workplace, organization,
school or group membership scenario.
PART 2: RESOLUTION STRATEGY
• Propose a strategy for resolving the moral dilemma that demonstrates God-honoring
diversity.
PART 3: APPLICATION AND REFLECTION
• Apply principles and ethical theories in the resolution of the dilemma, through a
Christian worldview perspective.
• Develop a code of conduct for an organization based on the 6 Pillars of Character.
• Reflect upon worldview implications in the moral dilemma scenario.
