By examining the concept of “employment at will”, public policy exceptions to it and how it fit with the issue of “wrongful discharge”. You stated,

“However, a common misconception is that employment at will means that either employers or employees may end their relationship for any reason

whatsoever. Employees may at times be bound by contractual agreements that prohibit them from leaving a job without penalty. An example is the

“non-compete” clause that is included in many employment contracts (Budd, 2004). These clauses bar employees from obtaining employment from a

competitor for a certain amount of time after leaving their position. A range of limitations are also placed by law on the ability of employers to

terminate employees. Public policy exceptions prevent employers from terminating employees at will in certain circumstances, and various laws and

regulations prohibit the wrongful discharge of an employee.” Briefly describe a situation where public policy exceptions can be utilized to prevent
