Paper One

For this paper, pay close attention to the following guidelines. Keep in mind, college-level research and writing is a process that takes time, and you will likely need to write multiple drafts of your work to create a quality paper. Allow yourself ample time to complete this assignment to the best of your ability.

https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/dt (FBI “Most Wanted” for alleged domestic terrorism). If you wish, you may also select a domestic terror organization listed in the Textbook. Do not mistake “extremism” with “terror organization!” They are not interchangeable.

SELECT a Foreign Terror Organization OR research a domestic terror organization/individual (click on the name and see what organization they are affiliated with). Pick one that interests you: you will keep this Group/Individual for all of the remaining writing assignments!

You will then do the following:

Research this group/individual. You can use google.scholar as a start point to find book/article titles.

The more RECENT the article, the better.

Select THREE articles on your selected group/individual that interest you the most, and read them thoroughly. Use the Grantham Library and EBSCO to assist. Stick to Journals and avoid relying on the Washington Post and NY Times.

In a well-written assignment, provide a summary of who/what the organization is:

1. How did it form and why (history)?
2. What are the most notable attacks that they are responsible for?
3. Based on the Textbook definitions for Terrorism, describe how this group/individual meets the textbook criteria for terrorism. This is the most important section!
4. Conclude: do they remain a domestic or international threat today?

Your submission will be a minimum of 2 pages and not to exceed 4 pages, excluding the Title Page and Reference Page. You will use APA Standard Format (1″ Margins, Times New Roman, 12-point Font, and Double Spacing. No extra space between paragraphs). There will be minimum THREE scholarly references in addition to the Textbook (that means at least FOUR references total).
