Small Group Usage Paper

Evaluate how small groups and other forms of fellowship are used in the discipleship process.

Horizontal fellowship with other believers is just as important as vertical
fellowship with God. It helps maintain the strength necessary for daily spiritual
life. It is necessary for the disciple maker, which was exemplified by Jesus, as
well as the disciple. An understanding of the character and necessity of fellowship
in disciple making will help us to properly prioritize those activities that create
proper fellowship.

Read Acts 2:41-47 and consider it as a description of a small group type of
dynamic.

Write a 2-3 page paper explaining which activities found in Acts 2:41-47
would be useful to a small group in their local context. Support for the
usefulness of these activities for discipleship should be presented from the
Pauline Epistles. Ensure the following points are addressed.

0 Discuss Hull’s use of Acts 2:41-47 in “Our Spiritual Bonding
Force.”

0 Provide a description of the activities found in Acts 2:41-47 and an
evaluation of their usefulness in a 21St century small group context,
preferably your own local context.

0 Support your evaluation of these activities from the Pauline
Epistles.

O Provide at least two academic resources.
