Aim/Research Question
To what extent the Ph levels in different kinds of soils, such as loam, sand and clay, effect
the rate of nutrients (nitrate, nitrite, sulphide, iron)?
Hypothesis
The rate/presence of nutrients will increase as the Ph level of the soil increases, while other
variables are controlled and held constant, and vice versa.
Materials
-Ph meter
-nutrient measuring set (for nitrate, nitrite, sulphide, iron)
Procedure (for the experiment)
-three different kinds of soils (loam, sand and clay) will be placed into three identical cups
-the Ph levels of each soil will be noted
-nutrient measuring sets for each nutrient will be prepared for measurement
-rate of each nutrient will be measured in all three soils
-the rate of nutrients present in each soil will be noted
-the Ph levels and the rate of nutrients will be observed
