2) Media Archive Assignment: 5-7 page
Each student will, at the beginning of the semester,
select a topic of current interest, import, or controversy that has received wide coverage in the news and other media sources over the past two years, into the present.
The student will collect news stories, articles, video, and other relevant media explorations or reflections of/on the topic.
Possible issues include police violence, the first 100 days of the new presidential administration, and related issues around race, class, gender and sexuality. We will discuss these throughout the semester.

that analyzes the way their issue has been treated in the public discourse and the critical questions raised by their issue.
Thesis – Based on the purpose and wording of the Second Amendment, keeping and bearing arms is an inalienable right.
assess the main arguments on both sides of the debate
Gun control is a hot topic, especially after the recent mass shootings. Every time there is a shooting, the anti-gun establishment shouts for more control. With the election of Donald Trump, gun owners celebrate.
Develop a reasoned defense of your own views and anticipate and respond to possible objections
