Students are required to write a 4 to 5 page paper covering a disease-specific, planned approach to health enhancement and/or disease prevention based on the models presented in the course. Students must choose a disease/disorder NOT INCLUDED in the class topics. Papers should be double-spaced with 12pt. Times New Roman Font. All margins should be 1 inch. Papers should have a title page (which does not count towards the page count). References do not count towards the page requirement. Late papers will be deducted 10 points per day late. Points will be deducted for not following the above format. Emailed papers will not be accepted.

Significance of Chronic Disease (15 Points)

National trends by age, gender, race, geographic region, risk groups (Who is affected?)

Disease Pathology (25 Points)
Risk Factors
Be specific – what type of tests are used for diagnosis?

Disease Control (based on research literature) (25 Points)

Primary intervention methods (preventing the onset of disease)
Secondary intervention methods (treating individuals who are developing the disease)
