Art History II: Renaissance to Post Impressionism

Building on the skill sets gained from Reading Response 1 and 2, you will now compose an essay addressing the same concepts and questions. Your essay will need to be formatted with an Introduction Paragraph, Body Paragraphs, and a Conclusion Paragraph. Use the outline below and questions from Reading Response 1 and 2 as a guide.

I. Introduction- In this first paragraph, identify the main purpose/argument and provide a general overview of the topics you will be discussing in your paper. (Use questions 1 and 2 as a guide)

II. Body Paragraphs- In the body paragraphs, identify the types of research and evidence the author uses to support his main argument. You do not need to summarize the entire article, instead focus on aspects of the article that is directly related to the argument. In these paragraphs, also evaluate the strength of the argument and article as a whole. (Use questions 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 as a guide)

III. Conclusion Paragraph- Re-state your main observations and also make general connections to the class content (textbook, weekly presentations, discussions, etc.) (Use question 8 as a guide)
